Midna's Profile

This section contains spoilers, and warnings will be given when they arise

Personality// When you first come into contact with Midna, she isn't exactly the most welcoming character. At first glance, Midna seems to be sarcastic, insulting, ill-mannered, and self-centered. She uses Link's condition as a wolf to her advantage and offers help only if he will do her bidding.
As you advance through the game, Midna experiences the kindness of others and grows from a selfish character to one who understands that she must do everything she can to save not only her Twilight Realm, but also the parallel world of Light.

Appearance//SPOILER ALERT! Throughout the game, Midna is in the form of an imp. She was cursed to this form by Zant, the Twilight King. She wears a helm- which is actually the fourth piece of the Fused Shadow artifact- to hide her face. Midna expresses that she feels ugly in this form, and does not want her people to see her like that. Midna's true form is that of a tall, beautiful Twili woman. She has blue-tinted skin and her markings are the same, and she wears a long cloak and skirt.

Origin// Obviously, Midna is of the race called the Twili. Her ancestors had tried to steal the power of the Gods and were banished from the realm of Light. Her world is called the Twilight Realm.

Power// The Twili hold special powers, and Midna is no exception. She aids Link in his wolf form by creating a forcefield that allows Link to attack all enemies within its radius. The fourth piece of the Fused Shadow artifact, her helm, is a great source of power that allows her to transform when fused with the other three pieces.

Relationships//SPOILER ALERT! Link and Midna develope a strong bond throughout the game that some fans may even regard as romantic. In the Gerudo Desert, she places her hand on Link's face and asks him to continue helping her. At the end of the game when Midna regains her true form, she is amused by Link's silence and asks, "Am I so beautiful that you've no words left?" Also, at the very last scene, her last line is. "Link...I...Nevermind. See you later," and she shatters the Twilight Mirror with a single tear.
Not only does she share a close relationship with Link, but Midna also becomes close to Princess Zelda. In one scene, Midna is near death, and Princess Zelda sacrifices her own power to save Midna, making their hearts one. This could also be one of the reasons Midna grew as a person. She was witness to sacrifice, and as Zelda's heart became her own, perhaps she learned kindness from it.

Role// While Midna is a main character in Twilight Princess, she also acts as a helper for the player. Much like Navi or Tatl from previous Zelda games, Midna helps the player with information and attacks. She can help Link jump from platform to platform in his wolf form, warp him about Hyrule, allow him to use a forcefield attack in wolf form, go back and forth between the Twilight and Light realms, and tranform from human to wolf at will.
